Hey guys, i am sure you are tired of eating meat right from Christmas to-date. Lets start the New Year with a healthy diet.
This tasty seafood 'POMFRET FRY' (butter fish) is loved by everyone. Please don't deep fry but shallow fry with minimum oil.
It is so simple to prepare and a must try if you like seafood.

Ingredients:
1 large pomfret weighing 750 gms.
1 small onion
4 garlic flakes
3/4th inch ginger
1 tbsp. cumin powder (dry roasted and ground) tastes awesome
1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2" cinnamon stick
3 cloves
3 tbsp lime juice
1 tbsp salt
3 tbsp semolina
3 tbsp rice powder
Pinch of salt to add to the semolina/rice powders
Oil for shallow frying
Method:
Clean the fish and make deep incisions across the fish on both sides
Grind together, onion, ginger, garlic, cumin powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, lemon juice and salt.
Rub the ground masala on the fish on both sides
If you have the time, you can keep it in fridge for 1/2 hour, otherwise you can fry it straightaway.
Mix semolina, rice powder and a pinch a salt
Sprinkle this rice/semolina powder on both sides of fish
Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a shallow pan
Place the fish on the hot pan and cover and fry until 1 side is brown
Flip it over and drizzle some oil, if needed.
Fry the other-side as well until it turns crisp and brown
Remove on a plate and serve hot with onion rings and lemon wedges.
