Yields: 24 small dumplings
Ingredients:
500 g chicken mince
2 stalks spring onions, chopped
3/4th cup soaked Basmati rice (soak for 3-4 hours).
1 tbsp ginger, chopped
1 tbsp garlic, chopped
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp crushed black pepper
1 fresh red chilli, chopped
salt to taste
Sweet chilli sauce
Method:
Wash and soak Basmati rice for 3-4 hours
Drain and spread it on a plate
Combine chicken mince with chopped red chilli, garlic, ginger, crushed pepper, salt, green spring onions, soy sauce and mix it all well.
Divide into 24 small balls
Grease your palms and make small balls
Coat them with the soaked and drained Basmati rice
Grease the perforated plate which goes into the steamer
Place the chicken dumplings in the plate
Heat sufficient water in a steamer
Place the dumplings in the steamer
Cover and cook for 8 minutes or until the rice is cooked
Remove and serve hot with sweet chilli sauce
